Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking an Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join a collaborative team focused on delivering safe, high‑quality newborn care. You will prepare the surgical suite, support obstetric procedures, and help ensure compassionate care with opportunities for training and growth.

The role emphasizes assisting with sterile technique, instrument handling, patient positioning, and teamwork in a fast‑paced obstetric environment.

Qualifications

• Current BCLS recognized by American Heart Association required.
• Prefer six to twelve months current experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures.
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands‑on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures.
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly.
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient‑centered care and a seamless surgical experience.

Your responsibilities will include

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands‑on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient‑centered care and a seamless surgical experience

What qualifications you will need

• Completion of a Surgical Technician program.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) as recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.
• Current BCLS recognized by American Heart Association required.
• Prefer six to twelve months current experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting.
