Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR. You will handle instruments and supplies, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and help maintain a sterile field to ensure patient safety under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The role requires a Surgical Technologist training program or equivalent, a GED or high school diploma, and 1 year of OR experience (or 3 years in direct patient care).

Qualifications

• Education: Surgical Technologist training program required.
• Education: GED or High School Diploma required.
• Work Experience: 1 year OR experience as Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required or 3 years direct patient care in a clinical setting required.
• Licenses/Certifications: BCLS required; NRP preferred.

He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
