Job summary

HealthNet is seeking a Medical Assistant in Indianapolis to perform patient care services under physician or clinic manager direction. You will collect patient data, prep rooms and records, assist during exams, and support immunizations and basic lab work.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program, BLS, and ICD-9/CPT coding knowledge. Occasional cross-site staffing may be required.

Qualifications

  • Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BLS certification through the AHA within one month of hire.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collect patient information and prepare exam rooms.
  • Call patients for next day appointments and assist providers in exams.
  • Assist with examination procedures and basic lab work.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and phlebotomy.
  • Provide patient education and clerical support.
