Job summary

HealthNet is seeking a Medical Assistant at Southwest Health Center in Indianapolis to support physicians and clinic teams with patient care, room preparation, and documentation.

You will collect patient information, schedule next day visits, perform basic lab work, injections, immunizations and phlebotomy, and help with education and clerical tasks. This full-time role requires BLS within one month and a completed MA program.

Qualifications

• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA within one month of hire.
• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Requires equivalency if presenting a foreign degree.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient information.
• Call patients for next day appointments.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, medical records and patients for clinic visits; assist providers in exams and treatments.
• Assist with examination procedures.
• Perform general lab work.
• Administer injections and immunizations, and phlebotomy.
• Provide patient education and clerical support.
