Job summary

HealthNet, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform patient care services at our Indianapolis health centers. Pay starts at $19/hour.

You will collect patient information, prep exam rooms, assist with exams, perform basic lab work, administer injections and phlebotomy, provide patient education, and support clerical tasks. Eligibility includes BLS within one month, knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding, and completion of an accredited medical assistant program (foreign degree equivalency

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within one month of hire.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding.
• High school diploma or GED and completion of accredited medical assistant program; equivalency for foreign degrees considered.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient information.
• Call patients for next day appointments.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, medical records and patients for clinic visit and assist providers in exams and treatments.
• Assist with examination procedures.
• Perform general lab work.
• Administer injections and immunizations, and perform phlebotomy.
• Provide patient education and clerical support.
