Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Medical Assistant in St. Petersburg, FL to provide clinical support during office visits, assist providers, and maintain patient flow. Requires high school diploma or GED; CMA preferred or able to obtain CMA within 120 days; CPR/BLS preferred or obtainable within 30 days.

Experience in OB/GYN/Primary Care is a plus; strong knowledge of medical terminology and EMR (preferably eCW) needed; must be dependable, punctual, and professional. Training and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• (FL Only) CMA preferred or ability to obtain CMA within first 120 days.
• Graduate of nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or Armed Forces Medical Technician with honorable discharge.
• Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
• Strong communication and professional interaction with all staff and patients.
• Ability to use EMR software, preferably eCW.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment, procedures, examinations, and testing.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.
• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per policy.
• Educate patients by providing information and instructions.
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment; comply with regulations.
• Sterilize medical instruments.
• Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers.
• Represent the office professionally; treat all customers with courtesy.
• Participate in team activities and professional development; attend required meetings.
• Demonstrate and embody Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with HIPAA rules and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
