Job summary

The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) is seeking a Director of New York City Legislative Affairs to shape public policy on housing, development, infrastructure, and taxes. You will lead advocacy efforts and serve as REBNY's liaison to city policymakers.

This role provides access to REBNY's senior leadership and member firms, offering opportunities to influence strategy, build coalitions, and guide policy positions across New York City's government and civic community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years in government, public affairs, legislative affairs, or advocacy.
• Experience with NYC government, NYC Council or Mayor's Office.
• Strong understanding of NYC policymaking processes.

Responsibilities

• Drive legislative strategy with NYC Council and City agencies.
• Build relationships with elected officials, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Prepare advocacy materials and briefings for REBNY leadership.
• Engage industry leaders and coalitions to advance policy priorities.
