Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Legislative Representative to bridge the Mayor's Office of State Legislative Affairs with the New York State Legislature. You will help develop and advance the Administration’s agenda through state law and budgeting processes.

Ideal candidates have strong understanding of the state legislative process and public policy analysis, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Residency in the New York City area is preferred for efficient collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in New York State legislative processes and ecosystem.
• Residency requirements and eligibility related to City of New York postings.
• A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience may satisfy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Foster productive relationships between the executive and legislative branches.
• Assist the Mayor's administration in developing and advancing the Administration’s agenda through State law and the State budget.
