Job summary

Artheon is seeking an Entry Level Construction Inspector in East Brunswick, NJ to support transportation and infrastructure projects on-site. You will perform field inspections, review plans, oversee materials testing, and prepare reports under guidance from senior staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and can read drawings, communicate effectively, and work outdoors with flexibility for night shifts and occasional weekends. NJDOT/NJ Turnpike experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in an active construction environment.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Flexibility for nights, overtime, and occasional weekends as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on highway, bridge, airport, and transportation infrastructure construction projects
• Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards
• Read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, and project records
• Assist with Office Engineer responsibilities, including reviewing construction documentation and coordinating project information
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, project managers, contractors, and client agencies
• Support materials testing, quality assurance, and project closeout documentation as required
• Work on-site daily, with availability for night shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends based on project schedules
