Job summary

Fairstead is seeking a Violations and Compliance Coordinator to manage NYC agency laws, regulations, and violations across the portfolio. The role requires organizing large data sets, coordinating with the Property Management team, and ensuring inspections and violations are tracked and resolved.

The ideal candidate has experience in facilities compliance or expediting, strong organization, and detailed knowledge of HPD, DOB, ECB procedures, and related hearings.

Qualifications

• Experience in property management with a focus on facilities compliance or expediting.
• Experience managing complaints and violation removal in NYC.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to close out permits and violations.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks including violations, hearings, submissions, and court cases.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and tracks progress of NYC portfolio-wide compliance items.
• Ensures inspection items (window guards, fire safety, boilers, elevator records, sprinkler/standpipes) are completed and code compliant.
• Manages close-out process for all violations and provides periodic internal reporting.
• Investigates and researches building violations (FDNY, DOB, ECB DOMH, DEP, etc.).
• Ensures commercial tenants comply with lease obligations.
• Performs administrative tasks to support the Property Management team.
