Job summary

Fairstead is seeking a Violations and Compliance Coordinator to manage NYC agency laws, regulations, and violations across the portfolio. The role supports the Property Management Team by consolidating data and coordinating remediation activities.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, experienced with NYC agencies (FDNY, DOB, ECB), and able to handle multiple tasks including inspections, permit closures, and reporting with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in property management with facilities compliance or expediting background.
• Experience managing complaints and NYC violations.
• Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Experience closing out permits and violations.
• Extensive knowledge of HPD, DOB, ECB procedures and hearings, FDNY & DHCR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and track NYC portfolio-wide compliance items.
• Ensure annual and periodic facilities inspections (window guards, fire safety, elevators, etc.).
• Manage close-out process for all violations with reporting.
• Research building violations for agencies (FDNY, DOB, ECB, DOMH, DEP).
• Ensure commercial tenants comply with lease obligations.
• Provide administrative support to Property Management team.
