Job summary

Hankook Tire America Corp. is seeking an NVH Test Engineer to plan and execute modal, laboratory, and on-vehicle NVH testing for tires and wheels. You will maintain lab capability, develop automation scripts, and apply FE tools to predict NVH performance.

Periodic travel to proving-ground sites across the U.S. is required. The role demands a mechanical engineering background with hands-on NVH experience and proficiency in Siemens Testlab, Python, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field; Master's preferred.
• Hands-on experience with experimental modal analysis and NVH measurement for tires/wheels preferred.
• Experience with Siemens Testlab (LMS/Simcenter Testlab).
• Knowledge of OEM/regulatory NVH standards and quality-control practices.
• Ability to design simple test fixtures/rigs.
• Proficiency with Excel and Python for data handling and automation.
• Willingness to travel internationally; some U.S. proving-ground travel.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document methods and present results.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform experimental modal testing of tire assemblies and wheels under multiple boundary conditions.
• Interpret and apply OEM, industry, and governmental NVH test standards and performance requirements.
• Design test rigs and fixtures for modal and related NVH testing.
• Maintain NVH lab facilities, data-acquisition systems, computers, and transducers.
• Own quality management of the NVH lab, including control-chart testing and calibrations.
• Conduct laboratory and on-vehicle sound and vibration measurements to assess tire NVH performance.
• Develop Python/Excel scripts to automate processes and implement analysis algorithms.
• Use FE tools to predict NVH performance (Abaqus and NASTRAN).
