Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. in California is seeking an NVH Engineer I to evaluate, test, and develop total vehicle NVH and ride & handling performance for North American market Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.

Responsibilities include planning test plans, data analysis with Matlab and specialized software, and collaboration with design teams to support Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis programs at the California proving ground.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or similar field.
• 0-3+ years engineering experience in automotive industry.
• Coursework in Vehicle Dynamics, Signal Analysis, Noise & Vibrations, Controls, and Human Factors.
• Good understanding of vehicle dynamics, chassis and powertrain systems.
• Experience with experimental test data acquisition systems and Matlab, LMS Test.Lab, HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, Test and Develop Total Vehicle performance, NVH, and Ride & Handling for NA Hyundai, Kia, Genesis vehicles.
• Perform subjective evaluations and objective testing; investigate root causes; develop countermeasures; summarize findings in reports.
• Develop and execute test plans; coordinate test vehicles; manage supplier activities.
• Plan and execute ride‑and‑drive activities for prototype and pilot vehicles.
• Benchmark competitor performance and set development direction and targets.
• Create clear project status and technical reports.
