Job summary

SLP Operations is seeking a Dietary Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Dietary Department in a long-term care setting in Abilene, TX. You will manage staffing, food ordering and preparation, meal service, and sanitation, ensuring compliance with policies and resident care plans.

You will collaborate with a Dietitian to plan menus, monitor budgets, and uphold regulatory requirements while maintaining quality meals and safe food handling practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be capable of requiring certificates required by the State.
• Experience in a healthcare food service setting preferred, long-term care experience a plus.
• Must interact positively with residents, families, regulatory agencies, and work collaboratively with staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dietary staff in the day-to-day operations of the Dietary Department.
• Establishes priorities, orients new employees, and participates in recruitment and selection activities.
• Ensures compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and resident care plans.
• Plans menus in collaboration with the Dietitian or Dietary Consultant and menu program.
• Maintains records, budgets, supplies, and department head responsibilities.
