Job summary

SLP Operations, LLC is seeking a Cook for our long-term care facility in Abilene, TX. You will prepare meals according to resident diet requirements, ensure safety and sanitation, and coordinate with the Dietary Services team.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow menus, maintain inventories, and support residents with compassionate service. Evening and weekend coverage may be needed in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare food service setting preferred; long-term care experience a plus.
• Ability to interact positively with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain consistent attendance and willingness to work long or irregular hours.
• Compliance with local health regulations and post-offer health assessment.
• Must perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
• Physical and sensory requirements including reading, writing, and speaking fluent English.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, bending, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals per menus and diet plans.
• Direct and assist with cleaning and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Ensure proper food storage and adherence to safety policies.
• Support residents' rights and promote standards in daily practice.
• Assist Dietary Manager with supervision of Dietary Aides.
• Review diet changes and coordinate with other departments.
