Job summary

South Central Human Resource Agency Inc in Columbia, TN, seeks a nutrition services assistant to prepare and serve meals for children, assist with family-style service, and adjust menus for special dietary needs. You will support the Nutrition Coordinator and Center Supervisor and ensure clean, organized kitchens and classrooms.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, background checks, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years nutrition service experience preferred.
• Satisfactory physical examination before and every five years thereafter.
• Valid Driver’s License and automobile liability insurance required.
• Satisfactory criminal background check before hire and every five years thereafter.
• Drug testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and snack within designated time frame according to menus.
• Order food and milk from approved vendor and/or purchase items from designated grocery store.
• Record refrigerator, freezer and milk temperatures morning & afternoon.
• Calibrate thermometers and record food temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and serving areas on a daily basis.
