Job summary

Adult Care Home is seeking a dedicated dietary staff member to plan menus, prepare meals, and serve residents three nutritionally balanced meals daily. You will coordinate with a dietitian, maintain resident food preferences, and ensure food safety standards are met while managing inventory and budget adherence.

The role requires reading and following directions, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and strict adherence to NC health regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in food service.
• Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must maintain cleanliness of kitchen within NC Environmental Health Standards.
• Must have an understanding of NC Rules and Regulations.
• Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
• Must have a clear SBI and DMV record and maintain it during period of employment.
• Must wear slip resistant shoes while working in dietary at all times.

Responsibilities

• Plan required menus with portions and snacks, ensuring three nutritionally adequate meals daily.
• Plan therapeutic menus per physicians' orders in consultation with a registered dietitian.
• Record menu substitutions and post menus for staff guidance.
• Maintain up-to-date resident food preferences and serve three meals daily at regular hours.
• Perform inventory, purchasing, and ensure food deliveries meet budget and policies.
• Ensure foods are served hot (>140F) and cold (<45F) as required.
• Adhere to confidentiality, safety procedures, and resident rights.
