INTERLAKES COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP in Martin, SD seeks a Nutrition Cook to ensure appealing, safe, and nutritionally-targeted meals for participants. This full-time position collaborates with the Site Manager on menus and maintains daily kitchen operations to meet program standards.
You will prep, cook, and serve meals, monitor sanitation, document logs, and assist with inventory and volunteer coordination, contributing to a smooth daily meal service.
As our Nutrition Cook in Martin, SD, you’ll help fuel participants with meals that are appealing, safe, and nutritionally on target. This full-time role exists to keep daily meal service running smoothly while meeting program standards.
Key responsibilities include partnering with the SIte Manager on menu planning; preparing, cooking, and serving meals per menu and nutrition requirements using approved recipes; operating and caring for kitchen equipment (dishwasher, stove, knives, microwave, etc.); documenting food temperatures, portions, meals served, and consumption; ordering and inventorying food/supplies, rotating and storing items correctly; maintaining sanitation (tables, utensils, handwashing, trash); securing food, supplies, and equipment; coordinating volunteers; and handling basic computer/phone/calculator tasks plus invoice accuracy.

Your day kicks off with a quick look at the menu and a fast check that the kitchen is set for success. You’ll move through prep and service with a steady rhythm- keeping an eye on timing, presentation, and a clean workspace. Between meal periods, you’ll update logs, reset the space, and stay a step ahead by checking stock and planning for upcoming needs. You’ll also connect with volunteers and teammates to keep the flow upbeat and organized. By day’s end, everything is cleaned, secured, and ready for the next round- because tomorrow’s impact starts with today’s finish.
