Job summary

Greater El Monte Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead the nursing unit, ensure high-quality patient care, and implement the hospital’s philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures. This role directs regulatory compliance, safety, CQI, and fiscal management to support optimal patient outcomes and resource use.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• B.S. with concentration in nursing preferred.
• Five years of acute clinical experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of administrative house supervisor experience or equivalent.
• Current CA RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, MAB certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist divisional director in developing, implementing, and evaluating service programs aligned with the hospital mission.
• Monitor unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policies for patient services and safety.
• Oversee the unit CQI program to monitor and evaluate critical aspects of care.
• Maintain a current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients on the unit.
• Identify real/potential problems and implement solutions with follow-through and communication.
• Foster a service consistent with patient care beliefs and the department's shared management philosophy.
• Consult with patients/families through primary nurse requests and assess feedback on hospitalization.
• Ensure effective and efficient fiscal management of department operations.
• Ensure the department delivers quality services in accordance with policies and standards.
• Collaborate with human resources to promote quality services and positive employee relations.
• Communicate departmental information to staff and achieve goals within timeframes.
