Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a Manager Nursing Unit to oversee operations of specialized nursing units, provide guidance to staff, and ensure high-quality patient care.

You will drive initiatives in new grad RN retention, patient experience, performance and quality improvement, throughput efficiency, staffing patterns, and budget management, while leading through strategic management and relationship building.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN or related graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years of charge or leadership experience.
• Licensed as RN in Vermont; BLS certification.
• Unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, STABLE) as department needs.
• De-escalation and restraint training per department guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of clinical nursing practice and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of nursing unit(s) and guide staff.
• Ensure quality of patient care and safety.
• Support Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Improve throughput, staffing patterns, and budget management.
