Qualifications

• High School Diploma or 1-2 years of college or other post high school training or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in keyboarding skills.
• Basic ability to operate common PC software and office equipment (copying, fax, multi-line phones).
• Effective written and verbal communication with internal/external customers.
• Organizational skills to prioritize and complete tasks and to collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs reception activities including answering phones, greeting customers, routing mail, and maintaining supplies.
• Determines patient/visitor needs and secures appropriate resources and follow-up.
• Responds to patient call lights and emergencies.
• Maintains orderly work area and positive image of the unit.
• Obtains required patient documents and consents; ensures 24‑hour admission sign‑offs where applicable.
• Prepares discharge paperwork and coordinates patient transportation and scheduling.
