Job summary

Nantucket Cottage Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor to lead patient care across units in the evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. You will oversee patient flow, support nursing staff, respond to emergencies, and coordinate care hospital-wide.

This role provides administrative, operational, and clinical responsibilities within the facility outside daytime hours, serving as a clinical resource and collaboration hub with medical staff and support services.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing is preferred.
• Massachusetts RN license is required; BLS, ACLS & PALS are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care using the nursing process and provide guidance to staff.
• Ensure appropriate interventions during deteriorations, disruptions, or equipment issues.
• Act as off-shift patient care representative and document concerns.
• Conduct rounds and set expectations for reporting, especially in high-acuity units.
• Coordinate with support services, emergency, admitting and clinical teams after hours.
• Ensure patient and environmental needs are resolved.
