Job summary

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking to fill the position of Nursing Supervisor to staff in all phases of the Health Care delivery unit, laboratory, radiology, and nursing programs. The incumbent will work as a full-line supervisor to staff, assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance and training to assigned staff.

The role involves scheduling clinics, monitoring referrals, assisting with data collection, and contributing to CQI efforts to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
• Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible Registered Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and provides guidelines to staff in all phases of the Health Care delivery unit, laboratory, radiology, and nursing programs.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Provides direction, assistance on nursing treatments and procedures.
• Schedules special clinics and reviews lines for proper care and follow-up.
• Monitors all specialty referrals approved by Medical Director to outside specialists or on-site clinics.

Education

College degree (equivalent to four years of college)
