Job summary

State of Illinois in the Department of Corrections seeks a Nursing Supervisor to lead nursing, laboratory, radiology and health care staff. This full-time role involves directing daily operations, guiding staff, and scheduling clinics to meet patient needs. The position is in-office with a 3pm–11pm shift, Monday–Friday, weekends off.

You will work with the Medical Director to monitor care quality, assist with CQI data collection and monthly reports, and ensure compliance with medical policies.

Qualifications

• Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Requires 3 years of progressively responsible RN experience.
• Four years of college education required.
• Prefers supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and provides guidelines to staff in health care delivery, laboratory, radiology, and nursing programs.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Schedules clinics and reviews lines for proper care and follow-up.
• Monitors referrals approved by Medical Director to outside specialists and on-site clinics.
• Assists with data collection and Monthly Reports to the Warden’s office.
• Performs other duties within the scope of duties enumerated above.
