Job summary

Elmhurst University is seeking a part-time Nursing Student Support Specialist to lead undergraduate nursing student success efforts, including progression, retention, and NCLEX readiness. The role collaborates with students, faculty, and campus partners to identify needs and provide targeted resources and interventions.

The position is non-exempt, ~20 hours/week, in-person from August–May, with limited June/July hours and at least 5–10 hours weekly during summer.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Illinois.
• 3+ years of experience with undergrad nursing students or in academic/student support.
• Experience advising, coaching, or early intervention for undergrad students.
• Experience interpreting academic data to identify at-risk progression.
• Experience developing and facilitating individual and group academic support programs.
• Strong organizational skills and confidentiality in student records.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with student information systems, Microsoft Office, and data-tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Manages academic support programs and student success initiatives for undergraduate nursing students.
• Analyzes performance data to identify at-risk students and develops improvement strategies.
• Provides individualized academic support and coaching, linking students to campus resources.
• Maintains a systematic caseload and documents interventions and outcomes.
• Manages NCLEX eligibility and application processes, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.
• Monitors clinical feedback forms and SIEPs, tracking progress and follow-up.
• Develops and delivers workshops on study strategies, time management, and licensure prep.
• Schedules course evaluations and distributes evaluative data to faculty.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of initiatives using performance and progression data.
