Schreiner University seeks an Nursing Academic Success Coordinator to provide specialized academic support to pre-nursing and nursing students. The role blends nursing subject expertise with tutoring, coaching, and NCLEX preparation to help students progress and prepare for licensure.

The role collaborates with faculty and nursing leadership to differentiate academic support from instructional duties while promoting student success across undergraduate and vocational nursing programs.

Qualifications

Current, unencumbered Texas or compact RN license required.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; master's degree preferred.
Nursing practice experience to support pre-nursing and nursing students.

Responsibilities

Provides individual and small-group tutoring to pre-nursing and nursing students in nursing coursework and labs.
Maintains tutoring hours and targeted academic support for referred or identified students.
Develops nursing-focused study sessions, workshops, and review sessions.
Helps students develop study habits, time-management, test-taking strategies, and learning approaches.
Provides academic support for NCLEX-style examinations including analysis and test-taking strategies.
Provides coaching and helps students create individualized study plans.
Recruits, trains, and supervises nursing peer tutors and coordinates tutoring.
Maintains records of attendance for tutoring and workshops.
Refers students to campus resources like advising, tutoring, Writing Center, Career Services.
