Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One clinical semester in pre-licensure nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required.
• At least one clinical rotation completed in an acute care setting required.
• English language proficiency and strong communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
• Computer skills and EMR entry ability required.
• Medical terminology knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse.
• Provides basic patient care needs and supports hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and physical comfort.
• Transports supplies, patient care supplies, medications and equipment as assigned.
• Participates in hourly patient rounding and notifies RN as needed.
• Maintains safe environment and follows PPE/infection control policies.
• Supports professional nursing practice and unit performance improvement initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and health care team.
