Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Staffing Coordinator for the Beacon Hill location in Denison, TX. This full-time role schedules nursing staff, conducts interviews, and leads staff education and EMR training to ensure proper patient coverage.

The coordinator will manage attendance, notifications to the DON, and maintain open positions while supporting the nursing team through orientation and on-going staff development.

Qualifications

• LVN license preferred in applicable state.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience staffing in a 24-hour healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience interviewing and hiring nursing staff.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Create monthly nursing staff schedules, posted 6 weeks ahead.
• Prepare daily sign-in sheets well in advance.
• Monitor staffing per patient per day and census to minimize overtime.
• Report staffing challenges to the DON promptly.
• Maintain attendance records and trigger disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain open positions and applicant tracking logs.
• May conduct initial nursing interviews and reference checks.
• Provide orientation and EMR training for nursing staff.
• Support Nurse Manager duties as Super User in EMR.
• Coordinate health requirements (TB/HBV) for staff as needed.
• Communicate effectively with staff and keep DON informed.
• Assist with staffing calls to fill vacancies on duty.
• Support staff education per education calendar.
