Job summary

ScionHealth Westminster is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to oversee nursing unit staffing under the Chief Clinical Officer. The role includes coordinating staffing, validating licensure, supporting recruitment, and maintaining essential staffing records for accurate patient coverage.

You will develop schedules, track payroll time sheets, and collaborate with Human Resources to hire and orient new staff, emphasizing reliability and English fluency in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• One-year experience as staffing coordinator in acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains nursing department staffing records including cancellation list, float log, master schedule, attendance records.
• Identifies with the CCO or designee the number and level of personnel required to provide patient care, initiates changes in personnel and assignment as directed.
• Maintains the accuracy of the nursing payroll time sheets. Initiates changes and correction as necessary.
• Completes schedule and completes daily staffing sheets.
• Reports staffing problems and unusual situations to the CCO or designee and keeps her/him informed of situations requiring follow up or immediate attention.
• Coordinates with Human Resources in the hire process and orientation of new employees.
• Participates in recruitment activities for nursing services as directed by the CCO.
• Schedules and participates in in-services as appropriate.
