Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to ensure adequate nursing coverage as per clinical requirements. You will schedule daily staffing, monitor census, and partner with nursing leadership to align resources with patient care needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 2 years related work experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior experience with UKG or related scheduling/payroll system preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Adapt to changing priorities and requests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily nursing staff scheduling and attendance in UKG.
• Coordinate open shifts and PTO entries for departments.
• Monitor census and align staffing with patient care needs.
• Communicate with clinical staff to fill shifts equitably and cost‑effectively.
• Escalate staffing needs to Nurse Manager/Clinical Director as needed.
• Distribute staffing assignments to Nursing Leadership via email.
• Coordinate interdepartmental Staffing Huddle twice daily to discuss census, admissions, transfers, and staffing needs.
• Document callouts in Absence Log and update in UKG for nursing leadership.
• Maintain Patient Observation Log and rotate sitters per Nursing Procedures.
• Oversee and discharge suite coverage and related transport needs.
• Attend continuing education and department training.
