Job summary

Del Rosa Villa Post Acute in Midway, FL seeks a Director of Staff Development to lead nursing education and orientation programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with the DON and Administrator to uphold high-quality resident care. The DSD will also provide direct resident care as required.

Requirements include nursing licensure (RN/LVN/LPN) with BSN preferred, and 1–2 years of long-term care education experience. Salary ranges from $73,000 to $83,000 annually and DOE.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing and valid RN/LVN/LPN license.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year direct patient care in long-term care facility.
• 1 year planning, implementing and evaluating education programs in nursing.
• 2+ years experience in long-term care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in recruiting and hiring of staff.
• Coordinate completion of and process employment-related documentation.
• Coordinate payroll and employee benefit programs.
• Plan, conduct and document and/or coordinate all required Fire/Internal Disasters and External Casualty Drills.
• Maintain neat, clean, well-groomed professional appearance.
• Organize In-Service education program for staff including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of education provided.
• Prepare and post a monthly In-Service calendar.
• Maintain records of In-Services as required by regulations.
• Plan and conduct meaningful In-Service education programs according to requirements for nursing personnel and all facility staff to assure competency in and new skills.
• Make rounds and observe delivery of patient care.
• Supervise staff, including taking or assisting with appropriate disciplinary measures.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
• Maintain employee/resident/patient confidentiality at all times.
