Job summary

Galen College of Nursing is seeking a Simulation Technician to support and enhance simulation experiences for all learners and to collaborate with program faculty to ensure quality student outcomes.

You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot simulation and AV equipment, maintain documentation, and assist in creating realistic clinical scenarios. A technical diploma or associate degree is required, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or associate degree required.
• Affinity for a technical role (IT, A/V, Electronics/Computer building).
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to collaborate with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate working knowledge of common audio-visual and IT hardware and software.
• Provide general technical support and troubleshooting for AV and IT systems.
• Set up, operate, and store audiovisual and IT equipment.
• Operate simulators, task trainers, and other simulation equipment safely.
• Support Simulation Center users in using instructional media and equipment.
• Maintain simulation equipment documentation and stock control.
• Prepare the simulation environment to represent clinical settings.
• Create moulage to model physiological responses.
• Ensure areas are clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations.
