Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Nashville, TN, seeks a Simulation Technician to enhance simulation experiences for learners in collaboration with program faculty and to ensure course CSLOs are met.

You will set up and maintain simulators, provide AV/IT support, and help create realistic clinical environments. A technical diploma/associate degree and strong communication are required; lifting up to 75 pounds is possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a technical diploma or associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Affinity for a technical role (IT, A/V, Electronics/Computer building).
• Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology or enrollment in course upon hire.
• Effective written and oral communication; ability to work with diverse groups.
• Physical ability to handle equipment; sedentary with occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Supervision: Minimal.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate working knowledge of common audio-visual and IT hardware and software.
• Provide general technical support and troubleshooting for AV and IT systems.
• Set up, operate, and store audiovisual and IT equipment.
• Ensure safe operation of AV system and simulation equipment.
• Set up, operate, maintain, update, and repair simulators and training devices.
• Support Simulation Center users in using instructional media and equipment.
• Contribute to and maintain simulation equipment documentation.
• Prepare the simulation environment to represent the clinical setting.
• Create moulage to model physiologic responses to scenario events.
• Maintain stock control and ensure consumables/equipment levels are adequate.
• Keep preparation and storage areas clean, safe, and compliant with health regs.
