Job summary

Galen College of Nursing in Nashville is seeking a Simulation Technician to support and enhance simulation experiences for all learners, in collaboration with program faculty to ensure CSLOs are achieved. The role involves operating and maintaining AV and simulation equipment, preparing environments that reflect clinical settings, and providing troubleshooting and instructional support to users.

A technical diploma or associate degree is required, with strong communication and collaboration

Qualifications

• Educational: technical diploma or associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience: affinity for a technical role (IT, A/V, electronics/computer building).
• Special Qualifications: basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology; strong communication; collaboration; attention to detail.
• Physical/Mental Demands: critical thinking, planning, and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Supervision: minimal.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate working knowledge of common AV and IT hardware and software.
• Provide general technical support and troubleshooting for AV and IT systems.
• Set up, operate, and store audiovisual equipment.
• Operate simulators, task trainers and other simulation equipment.
• Maintain simulation equipment documentation.
• Prepare simulation environments to reflect clinical settings.
• Create moulage to model physiologic responses.
• Maintain stock control and ensure consumables are available.
• Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and compliant with regulations.
• Assist Simulation Center users with instructional media and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
