Job summary

Liberty University’s Simulation Center seeks a part-time Student Supervisor to support deliberate practice and assist both students and faculty within the Simulation Center. You will work with the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to handle daily operations, setup and cleanup of equipment, maintain a clean, functioning area, and help with inventory and documentation.

Qualifications

  • The student must be a current LU nursing student in residential status and a second semester sophomore, junior or senior.
  • Must be work-study qualified and able to work 15 hours per week.
  • Excellent communication and professional personal communication skills; good computer skills.
  • Candidates should be critical thinkers, technologically savvy, and highly motivated team players.
  • Preferred: strong oral and written communication, customer service, teamwork, and ability to follow instructions and lead others with a Christ-like attitude; capable of working with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Support the simulation learning environment for undergraduate residents, cohort students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist with daily operations, maintenance, and setup/cleanup of equipment and scenarios.
  • Maintain a clean, functioning area within the Simulation Center.
  • Assist with inventory and lab documentation.
  • Promote deliberate practice within the Simulation Center.
  • Maintain the designated 'champion area' within the Center.
  • Stay current with existing and emerging technologies and industry benchmarks.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member aligned with LU's mission.

Job description

The Simulation Center Student Supervisor is responsible forproviding support to the students during deliberate practice withinthe Simulation Center. The Simulation Center Student Supervisorwill work directly with the Undergraduate Simulation CenterCoordinator to assist students, faculty, and staff with varioustasks within the Simulation Center.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • 1. Work directly with the Undergraduate Simulation CenterCoordinator to support simulation learning environment for theundergraduate residential and cohort students, faculty and staffparticipating in simulation or nursing laboratory curriculum andactivities.
  • 2. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator withdaily operations, maintenance, and set up/clean up ofequipment/simulation scenarios for the undergraduate and cohortnursing simulation labs.
  • 3. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator tomaintain a clean, functioning area within the Simulation Center forstudents and faculty.
  • 4. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator withinventory and lab documentation.
  • 5. Cultivate and sustain an environment to promote deliberatepractice within the simulation center.
  • 6. Responsible for maintaining assigned "champion area" within theSimulation Center.
  • 7. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies,processes, products, services and leading industry performancebenchmarks.
  • 8. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU'smission.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:

The student must be a current residential second semestersophomore, junior or senior in the Liberty University School ofNursing. The student must be work study qualified. Candidates musthave the ability to work 15 hours per week. Candidates must havewell-developed communication skills. Candidates will beprofessional with excellent personal communication skills and goodcomputer skills. Candidates must be critical thinkers,technologically savvy, and highly motivated team players.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess excellent oral and writtencommunication skills, customer service skills, demonstrate computerproficiency, be team focused, and possess the abilities to bothfollow instructions and lead others, a Christ-like attitude, andthe ability to function responsibly with minimum directsupervision.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimumwage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on jobresponsibilities, required skills, available funding, and marketconditions.
