  • Ensure Campus Recreation events operate effectively and efficiently; assess customer needs and implement solutions.
  • Set up and tear down events satisfactorily.
  • Maintain clean facilities and restrooms; stock supplies.
  • Communicate regularly with customers to ensure satisfaction during events.
  • Enforce policies and procedures during events; ensure safety and compliance.
  • Track events and promote programming; perform day-to-day operations.
  • Support evening, night, or weekend events as needed.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings; collaborate with team.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support operations and programming.
  • Embody LU’s mission and work as a team.

Job description

The Campus Rec Student Worker is responsible for performingoperational tasks for Campus Recreation programs and facilities.They will provide excellent customer service, maintain facility andasset cleanliness, ensure that all policies are followed by guestsand participants, and ensure all safety measures are beingimplemented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. 1. Responsible for ensuring that all Campus Recreation eventsoperate effectively and efficiently, while assessing customer needsand implementing effective solutions.
  2. 2. Ensure event set-up and tear down is completedsatisfactorily.
  3. 3. Responsible to ensure clean and organized indoor facilitiesthrough stocking supplies and maintaining clean restrooms andpublic spaces.
  4. 4. Communicate regularly with customers to ensure satisfactionduring events.
  5. 5. Assist in the maintenance and adherence of policies andprocedures during events at Campus Recreation facilities, ensuringcompliance with University policies.
  6. 6. Complete day to day operational tasks to track Campus Recreationevents and promote programming and events.
  7. 7. Regularly assist with events and operations during evening,nights or weekend hours.
  8. 8. Attend all required Campus Recreation trainings andmeetings.
  9. 9. Perform all other tasks assigned by the CommunicationsCoordinator to assist with Campus Recreation operations andprogramming.
  10. 10. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fosteringLU’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently Liberty University student
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • Ability to work up to 18 hours per week
  • Availability to work a variety of different shifts (weekends,early morning, afternoon, late night)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in event planning
  • Experience in a customer service position
  • Desire to pursue Recreation Management as a career field

Physical and Sensory Abilities
  • Frequently required to travel to local and campuslocations.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order toconduct business.
  • Regularly lift 40 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is split between aclimate-controlled office setting and both indoor and outdoorfacilities. All areas are well lit and the noise level ismoderate.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties andresponsibilities of the position, the use of one's personal vehicle(or LU vehicle) may be required for travel. Proof of a validdriver's license, and acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval,and liability insurance is required when driving in the performanceof the employee's position.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimumwage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on jobresponsibilities, required skills, available funding, and marketconditions.
