Job description

The LibertyLIFE Activity Coordinator serves as a guide, advocate,and mentor as students transition into college life. In this role,the coordinator supports students in navigating campus, achievingacademic and community engagement goals, and building meaningfulsocial connections. By fostering independence and encouragingcampus involvement, the Activity Coordinator helps students developthe confidence and skills needed for a successful collegeexperience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Weekly Event Planning: Coordinate with other LibertyLIFEstaff, then plan and lead social events or activities each week topromote community building.
  • Campus Exploration: Coordinate with students to set andhelp your student meet community engagement goals aligning withtheir interests.
  • Navigation Support: Assist your student in learning tonavigate campus, particularly during the first few weeks of thesemester (e.g., mastering bus routes, locating classrooms, findingdining halls).
  • Help Coordinate Volunteers: Help coordinate volunteerswanting to plan activities for LibertyLIFE students.
  • Weekly Check-ins: Attend a mandatory weekly progressmeeting with the LibertyLIFE Program Coordinator to share updates,discuss challenges, and celebrate student milestones.
  • Weekly Report on Activities and Student Progress: Writea brief update each week on student’s progress, and plannedactivities for the week.
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representingthe University in an exemplary manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fosteringLU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions forChrist.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience

Minimum

  • High school diploma
  • No experience required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative with the ability to workproactively
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience working with students withdisabilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingto convey clear, well articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order toconvey messages and correspond in an articulate and professionalmanner.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order toconduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Schedule

The employee’s work schedule will consist of approximately 20 hoursper week.

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is a climate-controlledsetting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoorsoccasionally.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties andresponsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle(or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a validdriver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval,and liability insurance is required when driving in the performanceof the employee’s position.

Pay Range

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications,experience, education, skills, and certifications, along withUniversity needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarksmay be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity toensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensationstructure.

The position may also be eligible for comprehensivebenefits , including health insurance, retirement plans, andtuition assistance.

$15.38 - $18.27
