Job summary

The Nursing Retention Coach at St. Louis Community College develops and implements strategies to support student persistence and success within the nursing program.

The role addresses academic, social, and financial barriers impacting student achievement; provides individualized and group coaching; and coordinates resources to foster retention and graduation. Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing, Counseling, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant full-time professional experience.
• Experience working with health care or nursing students preferred.
• Credentialing as a licensed social worker (LSW) or LPC a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student progress and proactively intervene with academic and personal support.
• Meet with students individually and in groups to address learning challenges and concerns.
• Support students in developing study plans, organization and time management skills.
• Provide referrals to campus and community resources addressing barriers.
• Lead the districtwide Nursing Retention Committee and assess interventions.
