Job summary

Northwood Technical College seeks a Nursing Pre-Program Advisor to support associate degree nursing students with personal, academic and career planning. This LTE role is grant-funded through Sep 30, 2027 at any campus location (Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake, Superior).

The advisor will schedule regular meetings, provide student-centered guidance, and coordinate with college resources to promote student success and program readiness.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide student-centered advising to pre-program Nursing students to facilitate academic preparedness, admissions process, and program admittance.
• Schedule regular meetings with students to determine admission and academic progress and assist with registration.
• Use evidence-based best practices in academic advising and student success for associate degree nursing students.
• Refer students to appropriate College resources to support retention.
• Collaborate with academic and student affairs staff to support nursing program retention and completion goals.
• Work with counselors to transition pre-program students to program status.
• Collaborate with dean and staff to provide new student orientation and engagement opportunities.
• Maintain partnerships with community organizations.
• Advise to advocate for student needs and serve as a resource for college staff
• Other duties as assigned
