Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Supervisor for the University City area. You will supervise hospital activities with emphasis on communication, patient throughput, experience, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will respond to urgent information requests and assist with investigations when needed. The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, active RN licensure, 2 years of nursing experience, and management familiarity.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• BSN required.
• BLS and CPI certification within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Communicates admin problems and actions to the nurse leader and Administrator-On-Call as appropriate.
• Rounds on all units to assess efficiency, patient care, teammate and physician satisfaction.
• Guides staff in understanding and compliance with state and federal laws, Nursing Practice Act, and company policies.
• Coordinates shift communication via huddles, rounds, or other meetings to exchange information.
• Assists with appropriate utilization of resources to meet patient care needs.
• Supervises nursing personnel, identifies problems, initiates corrective action, and documents actions/investigative findings.
• Coordinates patient flow and admissions/discharges with interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitors staffing levels using Float Pool and PRN resources to ensure adequate coverage.
