Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow and throughput in the department, collaborating with team members, providers, and inpatient units to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.
• Monitor patient volumes and coordinate placement based on acuity levels.
• Communicate issues to leadership and collaborate with ancillary departments to address delays.
• Utilize tele-tracking and coordinate with charge nurses to manage bed availability and transfers.
• Facilitate timely discharges, patient transfers, and removal of barriers to care.
• Provide comprehensive handoffs to oncoming staff, including status updates and pending needs.
