University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to manage patient flow and lead clinical operations, ensuring appropriate staffing and safe care delivery. The nurse supervisor provides after-hours and weekend leadership, participates in overcrowding management with the ED, and ensures adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards and PHI

Responsibilities

• Manages patient flow and clinical operations by obtaining resources to deliver care; collaborates with the charge nurse to ensure proper staffing.
• Leads in the absence of Administration after hours, weekends, and holidays; provides leadership for nursing staff when Clinical Managers/Directors are unavailable.
• Leads daily safety huddle and partners with the ED during overcrowding stages; may round in ED more than once per shift.
• Makes staffing decisions to move RNs, Sitters, and other staff as needed; supports ED surge situations to improve patient flow.
• Ensures adequate staffing, monitors sitter and restraint use, and maintains patient safety and regulatory standards.
• Administers rapid responses and ensures protocols are followed to assist in urgent needs; responds to codes and emergencies.
• Provides administrative, operational and clinical support to patient care areas and contributes to system improvements.
• Maintains the environment of care, supports clinical staff through presence, coaching and assistance with patient care tasks.
• Addresses staff concerns, leads through change, and helps create a positive work environment.
• Serves as disaster management lead in leadership absence and delivers service recovery for patients and families.
