Job summary

Valhalla Post Acute in Louisville, KY seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in directing licensed and non-licensed staff providing 24/7 care. You will help plan, develop, supervise nursing activities and policies while handling staffing, training, and performance appraisals under DON supervision.

You may lead clinical operations, participate in daily rounds, monitor resident conditions, and ensure safety and respectful treatment across residents and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain all required continuing education/licensing.
• 3-5 years of nurse management, preferably in a long term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing and supervising the nursing staff.
• Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff with DON.
• Assist DON with employee appraisals and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Act as back-up for the DON, RN and LVN staff and provide direct resident care when required.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds and resident condition monitoring.
• Ensure resident safety and respectful treatment; liaise with residents, families and physicians.
• Attend staff meetings or conduct meetings when the DON is unavailable.
• Provide reports and recommendations to the DON on nursing services operations.
• Assist in designing, implementing and evaluating nursing systems to ensure consistent care and resident rights.
