Job summary

TWINSBURG is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in guiding licensed and non-licensed staff in providing 24/7 health care to residents. The role emphasizes supervision, policy implementation, staff development, and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a BSN, be in good standing with the State Board, and possess 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Requires BSN from an accredited nursing school.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing.
• 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
• Assist in the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Work with the DON to recruit, hire and train nursing staff.
• Assist DON with employee appraisals and resolving problems including disciplinary actions.
• Act as back-up for the DON, RN and LVN staff.
• May provide direct resident care as needed.
• Oversee clinical operations, including daily rounds and monitoring resident conditions.
• Ensure resident safety and that residents are treated with respect.
• Liaise between residents, families and physicians.
• Attend staff meetings and conduct meetings if the DON is unavailable.
• Provide reports and recommendations to the DON on operations of nursing services.
• Assist DON in design, implementation and evaluation of nursing systems.
• Assist DON with in-services for nursing staff; maintain confidentiality.
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes and communicate changes.
