Job description

Oversee the daily operations of nursing labs and the clinical clearance office, including supervising staff, maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and coordinating lab purchases within budget. Ensure student and faculty clinical clearance compliance and collaborate with faculty and clinical facilities to secure placement sites. Maintain, secure records, support the licensure application process, and work with various departments to streamline student registration. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.

Supervise lab assistants, clinical clearance program support clerk, and work-study employees across the district for the Division. Collaborate with lab assistants to maintain nursing labs, ensure equipment functionality, and coordinate maintenance.

Coordinate with faculty and program coordinators to maintain a list of equipment and supplies needed by the Division. Manage purchases for the nursing labs and student supply kits according to college procedures and within budget. Oversee the inventory of instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.

Track clinical clearance requirements for student and faculty placements and generate compliance reports for clinical facilities. Collaborate with the clinical coordinator and clinical facilities to secure sites and dates for student placement.

Maintain, and secure student and graduate records, ensuring accessibility for the Texas Board of Nursing and accreditation representatives. Prepare and store documents in coordination with the Records Management Office.

Coordinate with program coordinators, nursing counselors, Specialized Admissions, and the Registration Office to streamline student registration. Assist the Applicant Review Committee in verifying admission and re-entry requirements.

Stay current on Texas Board of Nursing licensure and Affidavit of Graduation (AOG) procedures. Assist students with the licensure application process and collaborate with the Graduation Office to verify program completion and report graduates via the AOG portal.

Represent the Division in college and community events.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1. Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.
