Empire Care Centers is seeking a Dietary Manager in a nursing home to oversee the food service department, ensuring safe, nutritious, and palatable meals tailored to residents' dietary needs.

This role blends clinical nutrition knowledge with operations management, leading a dietary team, planning menus, enforcing food safety standards, and coordinating with dietitians, physicians, and care staff to support resident health and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in dietetics, food service management, or related field; CDM credential preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years in food service management, ideally in healthcare or long-term care.
• Skills: Strong organizational, budgeting, and interpersonal skills; knowledge of nutrition science and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Menu Planning & Dietary Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain menus meeting therapeutic, cultural, and personal preferences within budget and standards.
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Enforce sanitation and handling standards (HACCP, ServSafe); monitor temps, cleaning, pest control; ensure CMS compliance.
• Staff Management: Hire, train, coach, and evaluate dietary staff; set schedules; supervise in-service training.
• Operations & Budget: Manage daily food service operations, inventory, invoices, and dietary budget (food, labor, supplies).
• Resident & Patient Care: Visit residents to assess dietary needs and allergies; provide dietary instructions as ordered.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Conduct audits; maintain documentation for inspections.
