Qualifications

• Leadership and communication skills are required for directing food service personnel and interacting with residents and families.
• Two years of food supervision in long-term care is preferred.
• Enrollment in required coursework must be completed within specified timelines after hire; computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage food operations for residents, including staff, supplies, equipment and production.
• Document weights, intakes and dietary issues; coordinate with the clinical dietician and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct in-servicing and monthly scheduling for dietary staff and facility personnel.
• Formulate menus and supervise preparation and serving of meals; adjust portions based on dietary needs.
• Maintain records and reports on meals served, menus, diet analyses, costs and inventories.
