Job summary

PACS seeks a Director of Staff Development to plan and implement orientation, on-boarding, and in-service education for nursing staff in a long-term care setting, with collaboration with the DON and Administrator to ensure high quality resident care.

The DSD will supervise staff, coordinate drills, maintain education records, and ensure regulatory compliance; RN or LVN license required with BSN preferred; 1–2+ years in education in LTC.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and possession of a valid RN or LVN/LPN license.
• BSN preferred; licensure must be current and in good standing.
• Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement facility orientation, job skills training, and in-service education.
• Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and employment documentation; supervise staff.
• Develop and post in-service calendars; document education programs.
• Coordinate infection control surveillance and drills; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide direct resident care; maintain confidentiality and high-quality care.
