Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Director of Nursing Professional Development to lead education for the Department of Nursing/Patient Care Services. You will oversee a team of Nurse Educators, develop competency validation, and drive evidence-based programs aligned with SPIRIT Values and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education is required.
• Experience of 3-4 years in progressively responsible nursing roles is preferred.
• RN licensure in Maryland or DC is required; NPD and CNE certifications within 2 years are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, execution, and evaluation of nursing educational programs.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders to implement evidence-based training and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Oversee orientation and transition-to-practice programs for new staff and licensees.
• Develop competency validation and ongoing education, including specialty certifications.
• Manage department budget and staff performance, with regular reviews.
