Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Supervisor, Nursing Professional Development (NPD) to lead orientation, onboarding and transition for nursing staff. This nurse leader acts as practitioner, educator, and consultant to promote quality patient care and education initiatives.

The role requires BSN, MSN, and extensive nursing education experience, along with licensure and certifications. The position supports professional development across the network with a focus on evidence-based practice and

Qualifications

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
• Nursing specialty certification (e.g. NPD-BC, RN-BC(Adult, Geriatric, Neonatal, Pediatric, Oncology), CEN, CCRN, etc)
• BSN required; MSN preferred; minimum five years nursing clinical care; minimum three years nursing education experience

Responsibilities

• Create, plan, and lead the implementation of orientation, onboarding and transition programs
• Manage assignment and completion of orientation, onboarding, and transition requirements with nurse leaders
• Assist in creation and implementation of continuing education and annual competency
• Evaluate orientation/onboarding/transition progress at three months or end of orientation
• Act as expert clinical resource for new or complex patient care assessment, interventions and evaluations
• Promote safe and efficient clinical practice including Ten Rights and Four Checks of Medication Administration
• Model teamwork, leadership rounding and positive communications
• Participate in recruitment and retention of nurses and team members
• Interpret and communicate policies, standards and procedures
• Support quality improvement projects and research processes in NPD
